Meet Mrs. Cooley

     Mrs. Lana Cooley is one of three second grade teachers this year at Mazie Gable Elementary School.  She is a graduate of Dallastown Area High School and Millersville University with a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary and early childhood education. She has also earned her Master's Degree in elementary education from Millersville University. This will be Mrs. Cooley's 34th year teaching with the Red Lion Area School District. She taught at North Hopewell Winterstown Elementary for 23 years, and joined the Mazie Gable community 11 years ago.  During Mrs. Cooley's first two years of teaching, she taught fourth grade. Since moving to second grade, she feels she has found where her heart truly belongs. She really enjoys working with the second graders as they have such enthusiasm and love for learning.

     Mrs. Cooley lives in the Red Lion area with her husband. She has two daughters, Kaitlyn and McKayla. Their family has grown over the last two years as we welcomed Travis and Brady as son-in-laws. Mrs. Cooley is patiently waiting to join the next club in life...grandparent. Mrs. Cooley enjoys spending time with her family, reading, gardening, camping, visiting the beach, and she is a roller coaster enthusiast!

     Mrs. Cooley's heart is devoted to her students. She enjoys her job very much and takes great pride in her students and in teaching.  Mrs. Cooley gets a great deal of satisfaction watching her students grow throughout the year.  

     Mrs. Cooley sees her role as a coach. She is gifted a new TEAM of students and families each year. She teaches, cheers for, and celebrates the uniqueness of all of her students helping them to strive to be their best. She can't wait to meet her new team this year.
