Mrs. Swarr is proud to be the principal of the Mazie Gable Elementary School. She enjoys her job as principal because she has the opportunity to work with great students and phenomenal teachers and staff members every day! It is important to her that the building culture is positive for everyone, and that students are able to come to school feeling safe and ready to learn.
Mrs. Swarr began her career in education as a high school Spanish teacher in Lancaster County. She eventually transitioned into an alternative education setting for four years prior to becoming an assistant principal for the next chapter of her career. It was here that she learned more about educational administration and building management, and was honored to be offered the position as principal of Mazie Gable Elementary School. She has a Master's degree in Spanish and a Master's degree in Educational Administration. While accomplishments are nice, she recognizes that there is no education that can teach us that relationships with others are the key to achievement and success at all levels. Mrs. Swarr is proud to be part of the Red Lion Area School District and its dedication to excellence and "Real Learning for Real Life".
Mrs. Swarr lives in the southern end of Lancaster County, and is the mother to three sons and a granddaughter. When she is not at Mazie Gable, she is often spending weekends traveling with her husband and youngest son to his baseball games along the east coast. The majority of her family is in Lancaster County, including her oldest son and his wife, who just returned from military service.
